Walk from dark to Light - Charity Walk
A massive BD4,000 was raised through ‘Walk From Dark Into Light’ – a responsible and socially-distant charity walk organized by our 2021 Lady Captain, Denise Dunne, and hosted at the Royal Golf Club on Saturday, 24th April. A whopping 95 people got up in the early hours of the morning to take part in an on-course 5k walk to raise funds for Smile Charity; Children's Cancer Charity, Bahrain. In order to raise awareness for mental health, Professor and Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists/United Kingdom, Head of Department of Psychiatry at The Royal College of Surgeons of Dublin/Bahrain, Charlotte Kamel, attended as a Guest Speaker to talk about 'Stigma & Mental Health'.
Huge thanks go to our Lady Captain for organizing such a fun event for a great cause. Special thanks also go out to all the generous sponsors involved as well as the walk participants who contributed.
