Cheque Presented to Jaafar's Family

Managers and associates of the Royal Golf Club presented a cheque for over BD 3000 to the family of recently deceased staff member Jaafar Abdali.

Jaafar, a valued member of the Club’s Golf Operations team, died suddenly while playing in a football match in his home village of Eker on 7th April. He was just 32 years of age and leaves behind a wife and two young children.

The money was raised through the hosting of a members versus staff golf tournament, the Jaafar Abdali Challenge Trophy, as well as from donations from various golfing groups. The Club also donated BD 1 from every green fee paid in April and May to the cause.

“I would like to thank all those who donated to this very worthy cause,” commented Adam Dutson, Royal Golf Club Tournament Coordinator. “Jaafar was a very popular member of our team and is greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was the main bread-winner in his family and I hope the money raised will help ease his family’s struggle at this difficult time. I would like to give special thanks to our ladies section, the Royalists and Silver Stars social golf groups and Behbehani Brothers LLC, who all kindly contributed to the cause.”
